Wow… this is a pretty cool milestone.
About a year ago, I was really getting into overlanding and starting to go on these fun trips with a great group of friends called Venture Unknown. I’ve always enjoyed creating things, so I decided to start bringing a camera along and capturing the moments. I didn’t want to do it in a clout-filled “what’s up everyone, welcome to my YouTube” kind of way—just a way to tell stories, bring people along, and try to capture the feelings and emotions that came with these adventures.
I wanted a way to remember the fun decades down the road—something more meaningful than a bunch of clips on my phone.
Along the way, I’ve dusted off skills I hadn’t touched in years and learned plenty of new ones. I’ve also made some of my closest friends through these adventures I get to share. I learn something with every video I put out and constantly try to get better at the craft so I can tell the best stories possible and bring anyone who wants to come along for the ride.
Today, my little channel passed 500 subscribers. That’s not massive in the grand scheme of social media, but it’s pretty dang cool to me. I try to make these videos so the folks watching feel like they’re right there with us on the trail, so seeing this thing grow really means a lot.
Numbers aren’t everything—I’d keep doing this even if nobody watched—but I truly appreciate everyone who does watch, sticks around, and shares it.
Y’all rock. Now get out there, find some adventure (even small ones), and enjoy every moment you can. Adventure is a lot closer than you think.
