So I ran with a Nemo shower and some water bottles for a loooooong time, one day browsing Amazon I stumbled on something pretty cool, a cheap all in one water pump with a inlet hose and a sprayer. For $35 and some change I said what the heck, let me build something here. It really shocked me what a difference a few extra PSI makes for cleaning around the rig!
The setup itself is pretty dang simple:
The pump itself, housed in an Apache 3800. Now my rig runs an open back setup with a bed rack, if you have a fully sealed rig with a camper shell or an SUV this may not be necessary, but I just screwed the pump straight into an Apache and mounted it on my bed rack. Simple! Only real modifications to the box are two holes drilled in it big enough to feed the hoses through.
The reliance 7 gallon blue tank. I think we all have one laying around, if not they're pretty cheap and readily available from a wide variety of retailers. The only mod I did is taking off the stock spigot and replacing it uuwith a 3/4 barbed tip fitting. Personally I took the extra DYI route, cut the barb off and bored the hole out in the fitting just enough that the inlet hose will fit trough snugly enough to keep the unit "sealed".
POWER! Theres a million ways to power these things. The pump I recommend has a DC Barrel connector so I bought a mid range Talentcell 6 Amp hour LiFEPO4 battery, it cost the most out of everything in the setup right at $46.99 but I am yet to kill this battery in the field. In testing it can empty the tank from full about 6 times before needing a recharge. You can absolutely wire this into an existing system, or find a different battery though. I love that mine is fully self contained though, to each their own!
